Truth overview: Baptists do not stem from the Catholic Church or from the Protestant Reformation. Baptists have always been separate and have dating back to the time of Christ and John the Baptist. However, such rich history is being undermined today by lukewarmness, legalism, compromise, conventions, and many false teachers and preachers crept in unawares.
